HOW TO HIRE A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER:

It's time for my annual post and it's the ultimate secret in hiring your wedding photographer and getting the most out of your investment:

HIRE A PHOTOGRAPHER THAT CAN SHOOT IT ANY CONDITION OR LIGHTING SITUATION. Period.

I see brides shopping for photographers strictly by portfolios containing pretty outdoor photos taken at sunset. Guess what? ANYONE can go to Best Buy, buy a have decent DSLR and pull off professional looking photos at the "golden hour" if they have a little bit of camera knowledge.

But what about your RECEPTION? Isn't that 5 HOURS of your day? In a dark hall or barn with horrendous lighting conditions? What if it rains? Or snows? Or if you having a winter wedding and it gets dark outside at 4pm?

YOU NEED TO HIRE A PHOTOGRAPHER THAT IS WELL VERSED IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE DAY AND CONDITIONS. Low light, no light, indoors, outdoors, night-time, daytime, overcast, harsh sun are just some obstacles that face a photographer over the course of a full wedding day.

If the photographer you are considering is showcasing their work in tough conditions, perhaps they simply don't know how to handle tough lighting? It's very common and probably one of the 2nd biggest mistakes a bride and groom can make regarding their wedding photography.

What's the first mistake you ask? Hiring a photographer on cheap budget.

Your photography is THE ONLY part of the day you take from the day. The venue, the cake, the food, the rented tux, the band, the fancy transportation - all forgotten and gone. But not your photography - that will adorn the walls of your home. Be shown to your grandchildren in 40 years. Will be shared with and produce artwork for other loved ones.

Steven Serge Wedding clients recognize this. They are educated shoppers, understand full day fulfillment of services and quality but most of all, realize that photography is one of the most important aspects of the day.

I guess that's why we are officially booked for all of 2018 and have limited 2019 dates remaining.
