I'm a fan of traditional newborn photography. I admire the time and energy put into the props & little beds & over sized bows. Personally & professionally though, I have come to the realization that no prop can replace a parents embrace particularly on the first days with the new baby in the house. There's so much emotion & change that takes place in the home, in Mom & in Dad that it almost seems absurd to not capture it. Days ago, "Mom & Dad" were just "Mr. & Mrs." so why wouldn't you want to artfully capture this? 20 years from now, these photos will be more "timeless" than anything a studio photo could possibly produce.
