Aleine & Matt are clients from Philly but decided to come to Scranton for their engagement photos. While I strive to pick different settings for my local clients I offered to take them to Steamtown National Historic Site as I felt this would offer them something not typically seen by friends & family. Not only did we have perfect Fall weather for this session, as we were bouncing around shooting in one of the Trolley Cars and on the tracks, one of the park workers invited us into a working passenger car that they just finished restoring and decorating for Christmas. Honestly, I couldn't have planned this any better and when you throw in the fact the Aleine & Matt were just naturals at being themselves in front of the camera, it just made things perfect. Don't you agree?
I like to shoot engagement sessions in 2 separate settings so when Rosa & Mike said that they wanted some nature photos but was also interested in something with some old world architecture, I immediately thought of the perfect place: Waverly, PA. Yes, I know, Waverly has some charm but it's tiny and there's no actual "downtown" per say but next time you are near the Waverly Community House take a hard look at the detail and charm of the building. This worked as a perfect segue for us to shoot here and then head out to the Lackawanna State Park for some nature shots. Toward the end of our evening together, we dropped into Duffy's Coffee House for a warm up and wrapped it up by taking advantage of the Christmas lights at the South Abington Park for some very pretty backgrounds. Enjoy!
